A Week in the Life

Have you checked out my website,, lately?
I've been busy dying wool to sell...
And I've added new patterns, kits, and sale patterns.
Speaking of new patterns, I just have to show you some tiny glimpses of a few of the quilts that will be included in my next book with Martingale, due out next summer.
Mary Flynn at is doing the machine quilting on some of them.
I just love her ideas!
Aren't they wonderful?
Yesterday was a bit crazy--I woke up to this!
Almost unheard of in BC in mid-April!
But today it's gone and it feels more like spring is on its way.
I designed this little cross-stitch to share with you.
Happy spring, everyone!

  1. I love Mary's work, she does such beautiful quilting and designs that really bring out the best in the quilts she does.

  2. Hi Cheryl, my friend Mary told me about your blog, she does wonderful quilting. I love the hummingbird. May I ask what the name of your new book is? I would like to look for it. I like your cross stitch pattern, I do cross stitch. Used to do it more often before I discovered quilting, lately I've started to do cross stitch again. Glad your snow melted quickly, enjoy your spring day.

  3. Congratulations on your new book! The sneak peeks look really interesting. Mary's quilting looks so pretty, too!

  4. Thanks, everyone! The new book from Martingale (featuring Mary's quilting) is tentatively called "Country Pleasures" and is scheduled for release in summer 2012. I'll keep you posted!

  5. Absolutely love that quilt - Mary is a wonderful quilter and your quilt is so beautiful! I got directed to see this from Mary's blog...thank you for showing me more :)

  6. Hi Cheryl! Mary sent me over - she does such incredible work! Congratulations on your upcoming book! I'll be looking forward to it!

  7. Beautiful. Mary does such an incredible job with her machine quilting and her ideas are always right on. It is a delight to see these together.

  8. My blogging friend Mary sent me over. Your top plus her quilting is destined to be a masterpiece. Looking forward to seeing the entire Q when it's done. The photos you're sharing are a wonderful tease for your upcoming book.
It's a small world indeed. I've admired your BOM Country House Sampler since I saw one at a guild show some years ago, and the maker never did get back to me with which pattern she'd used. The mystery is solved!
When I had a blog anniversary giveaway earlier this year, your book "Country Comforts" was in one of my groups of gifts. I liked the book so much that I bought a 2nd copy to share.
I'm so glad that Mary sent me to your blog.

  9. I love the quilting..especially the hummingbird! And the wools are wonderful? I didn't see that light yellow on your website. Did I miss it? blessings, marlene
