Behind the Scenes at Martingale

On the last day of my drive home from Salt Lake City,
I stopped at Martingale's offices in Bothell, Washington,
for a quick tour and to meet more of the wonderful people
who did such a fantastic job of publishing my first book.
Here's Mary (marketing coordinator) at the reception desk.
Wouldn't you love to work in an office surrounded by such gorgeous quilts?
Inspiration is everywhere!
This one is "Home for the Holidays"
by Vicki Bellino
from her book, Bloom Creek Quilts.
Another pic of Mary--this time in her office.
Mary Beth (marketing manager)
and Karen in Mary Beth's office.
I don't remember Karen's job title but I know that
it was her beautiful home where the photographs
of my quilts were taken for Country Comforts.
Here she is in her cozy office.
Regina (designer and production manager)
and Mary (editor-in-chief).
Martingale's "library" with copies of all their wonderful books.
Cathy (author liason) is holding up a copy of my book.
I can't believe I'm in such amazing company!
As a perk for being one of their authors,
I was invited to take home a copy of any book I wanted!
I thought I'd died and gone to quilting heaven!
I took all the books I'm holding--I think there were 18!
Lots of reading and quilting to catch up on!
Should keep me out of trouble for a little while.
Thanks so much for everything!

  2. How neat to pick out any book you want. Like going to the library and not having to return the books! Looks like it would be a great place to work!

  3. I was just going to say, wouldn't it be wonderful to work in a place with quilts on the wall, then I read your statement, lol. So, what book did you decide on? I would be there for hours, trying to make up my mind;)

  4. Years ago I was able to tour Martingale when my girlfriend's mom worked there (way back in the early 90's) My friend's mom always sent me boxes full of the books they couldn't sell due to bent cover or ding. I miss those days of FREE books. How lucky you are! Now do tell...what all did you get?!!!

  7. What fun for you! I toured there when we lived in Seattle a few years ago. So many great quilters in that area. I brought home books too! Your book is awesome! Fun meeting you at market!
