New Pattern and First Giveaway!

It's been quite a week--starting with our hot water tank packing it in and having to mop up a partially flooded basement.  I think we could all use something to cheer us up at this time of year.  So, I'm offering you a chance to win this pattern which will be getting printed this week, called "To Grandmother's House we Go".  Instructions are for a little candle-mat and mini-tablerunner.  PLUS your choice of a Crazy Cuts wool pack, in either dark or light, to make one of the projects.  Each pack has eight 11" x 12" pieces of Moda wool.
Crazy Cuts Light
Crazy Cuts Dark
If you read my previous post, I confessed to being a quilt-aholic. So, to participate in this give-away, you just need to be a follower of my blog and finish this statement, "I knew I was a quilt-aholic when ...." Leave your comment by midnight, March 12th, next Saturday night, and I'll make the draw on Sunday, March 13th at noon, Pacific Standard Time. (If you're not a quilter, substitute your favorite creative pursuit for the word "quilt". I don't want anyone to feel left out!)

I know I'll enjoy reading your comments!
Have fun and good luck!

  1. Hi,

Thank you for having this giveaway! I am already a follower of your blog. I knew I was a quilt-aholic when I found myself buying more BOMs when I had a couple of dozen kits I hadn't made yet.

  4. I knew I was a quiltoholic when I noticed I was starting new projects before the last one was finished. That's before I knew what UFOs were - now they're taking over the house! LOL

  6. I knew I was a quiltaholic when I started making excuses to pop upstairs to my sewing room and then I'd tell myself "I'll just do a little bit, just finish this block" and before I knew it the children would be home from school demanding to be fed! and I'd spent the whole day sewing!

  8. I knew I was a quiltaholic when I was out for a walk, in the grocery store, or driving my kids around and the thought of my projects waiting for me at home made me giddy.

  9. I knew I was a quiltaholic when my quilting fabrics, wools, patterns, books, threads and notions overtook my stash of cross stitch fabrics, patterns, books, threads, and notions.
I rationalize my "addiction" by telling myself that my " hobbies" are my therapy, and that I would spend much more money seeing a therapist. Ha Ha Ha..Thanks for sharing your confessions. And for the chance to win your fantastic giveaway to add to my quiltaholic stash.....Lynn

  12. I knew I was a QUILT-AHOLIC when one quilt was NOT enough! Do I say it here? "Hello, my name is Kristy and I am a quilt-ahoic." Under my breath I will say, "and I don't want to recover!!!"

  13. Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for the fun opportunity to win this fab giveaway:) LOVe your new patterns and LOVE that prim coloured wool:)

I knew I was a woolfabric-aholic when I just had to go to my sewing room frequently to fondle and stroke my wool bundles, when I had palpitations at having to cut into them for a wool applique project and finally when with every project I looked at I found myself trying to incorporate wool!!!

Thanks to ewe I have palpitations again:)

  14. What a generous giveaway! I knew I was a quilt-aholic when I started having my purchases sent to my worked and sneaked them into the house without my husband seeing them.

  16. "I knew I was a quilt-aholic when .... I could not take my eyes off the shadows on my newly-washed patchwork quilt. I kept wandering into my bedroom to stare at different times of the day as the sun moved from one end of the sky to the other. This is a quilt that I couldn't wait to put on my bed, unfinished, and hand-sewed it 30 minutes every day before I went to work. well, I'm sure everyone has some similar affliction! I've been studying colour and adding to my stash ever since in order to have choices. Plaids and stripes it will be, I think.

  17. Yup I'm a follower for sure. I knew I was a quilt-aholic when I would buy the groceries and request "cash back" option (it would look like we spent a lot on food each month), that cash would be what I'd buy my fabric with so my DH wouldn't see how much fabric I buy...teehee don't tell...ok?

  18. Thank you for this lovely 'give-away' :) I first came to suspect I was a quilt-aholic when my husband and were are on driving vacation from Canada down through to Utah and back up the west coast. Every town we went through was searched carefully for quilt stores, sometimes even before a hotel!

  19. I knew I was a quilt-a-holic when my double closet in my sewing room got so full of fabric that it is hard to close the doors. Would love to win this fabulous giveaway. Have enjoyed your patterns for several years now. Thanks for the opportunity to win a free pattern AND the wool.

  20. I knew I was a quiltaholic when my stash had more fabric than the local quilt store. The first time I took my granddaughter to the quilt store, she didn't play with the toys provided, she toddled over and lovingly stroked the bolts. I'm thinking it must be genetic!

  21. I knew I was a quilt-aholic when my husband started cringing at social events because I was talking about patchwork to who ever would listen and trying to convert them, if they were not already quilters! Happy quilting Sue SA.

  22. I knew I was a quilt-aholic when I took my quilt to Cuba to work on! I worked on it every day on the beach and realized I must be the only person on earth to bring a quilt to Cuba in the sun!

  23. I knew I was a quiltaholic while in the military. We were only authorized three bedroom homes. One designated for DH & I, and one each for the boys. I had the boys SHARE so it freed up the one bedroom to accomodate my stash. Okay...at times the room was split with my sewing stash and their tv/game system...see I do share! LOL

  24. I knew I was a quiltaholic when the fabric started taking over the kids old bedrooms in our family home. Until there were no beds to sleep on and no room at the dining room table to eat upon.

I like your new pattern and would find a space for it.

  26. I knew I was a quiltaholic when I went on a driving holiday with my mom and she asked "dear do you like this fabric?" and I answered "yes, I already have it!"

Then later on the holiday when we returned to our car she made an imaginary mark on the wall and when I asked why she did this her answer was "because you didn't buy anthing at that shop!"

My name is Sandi and I'm a quiltaholic/fabricolice!

I like your new pattern, nice to see the hexagons incorporated into the design.

Can't wait to see you at Tanglebanks this year!
