Renovation Rantings

Okay, I'll try to keep the ranting to a minimum, but my life is in (almost) complete disarray right now, starting with, our basement reno.
We've decided, now that we're empty nesters, to convert part of our basement into a little suite to rent out and hopefully, bring in some extra income.  Sounds good in theory but it means that I'm giving up my big studio and relocating to a much smaller room upstairs.
This is what my studio looked like before we started the reno:

And here's what it looks like now, as I try and figure out what should go where.
Not much of a difference, you say?
I said to my husband, "Remember when we got married and we had NOTHING?"
How the heck did we get so much STUFF?
Needing to lift my spirits, I head out to my distributor and buy more fabric.
I mean, how could I resist these homespuns?
It's a sickness, I know, BUT
I've posted them for sale on my website.
So maybe I'm not too far gone??

  1. That's so sad to have to move from that wonderful big space. But I do understand the need for more income if you can get it. It will help pay for the "sickness"!

  3. Oh I feel your renovation pain! We're finally finishing our basement-which is where my sewing stuff is-2 sewing machines and a HQ16. It's 1/2 done (removed walls from the boys old bedroom and finished a powder room. I have to get rid of some furniture--but with everything pushed out of the way I'm having a hard time figuring it all out. I keep saying in a couple months this is going to be great....Good luck to us both! I, too, remember starting out with nothing. :)
